Car shows in the Southwest part of the United States are usually a HUGE deal, especially in my household. My son, Andre and me have attended a quite a few so far. Car shows are even better when there’s a lot of good food and music involved. I’m considering whether or not I should drive 45 minutes to our sister city Las Cruces tomorrow afternoon. Advanced tickets are only $5 for the Street Legends Custom Car Super Fest. Children under 10 get in free. Tickets are $10 at the gate. Cars are still eligible to be entered into the contests until Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m.
The event will take place at the New Mexico State Fairgrounds from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Aside from the beautiful cars, there will also be live music and a lot of great food, along with a beer and wine garden. The Chicago Tribute Band, Windy City will play live.
The fairgrounds are also well-known regionally for their annual Memorial and Labor Day wine festivals. I know I’m getting a little bit off-topic here but if you haven’t tasted New Mexico wine (and you happen to be a wine enthusiast), you are missing out. I have to say my favorite thus far has been the Mimosa from St. Clair Winery & Bistro based out of Deming, N.M. The winery/bistro is in other New Mexican cities such as Las Cruces, Albuquerque and Farmington. I’m also a fan of some of the other sweeter white wines they offer. Hint hint, they have a web site! Luckily for me they sell their wines at local grocery and liquor stores.
Advanced tickets for Street Legends are on sale for $5 each at ABC Paint & Body Supply in Las Cruces and All That Music in El Paso.
