What do you all think about them? Some bloggers like them while others don’t accept them.

I think it’s a nice gesture a fellow blogger took time out of their day to recognize other bloggers. I want to say thank you again to those who nominate me. Also thank you to everyone who reads, likes and comments on my blog. I really appreciate it a lot! Thank you also goes to everyone who follows my blog.

I’m happy to say I’m almost at 200 followers. I did my first post on February 25 about “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Despite all of the not so great reviews it got, I like the movie. Thanks again everyone and keep blogging!

Hello everyone! My name is Lisa Amaya. I'm a 30 some year old mom to one son. My blog is about my life, entertainment, current events, people and events in my hometown, El Paso, Texas, etc. My blog will also feature pieces about Ciudad Juarez, Mexico and surrounding areas in New Mexico. I also hope to include more travel blog posts. Guest bloggers will also contribute from time to time! I've been a writer since I was 6 years old. I graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in journalism. I've written for various newspapers and magazines. I plan on focusing more of my time on blogging and freelance writing. I took a five-year break from writing but I'm back at it! Thank you for stopping by and welcome!

  8. I love Blog Awards and not just for the recognition. It’s great to get a pat on the back for a job well done. It goes double when it comes from your peers. I also find myself drawn to any post about blog awards. It is a great way to find new and interesting blogs with built in recommendations.

  9. Huh? Lol just kidding. Yeah I understand what you mean. That’s a good way at looking at it. I can see why other bloggers don’t accept them either. They’re busy, don’t know who to give them to, etc.

  10. I agree with you, I like them and for another blogger to nominate you is great. I also started in February and I’ve decide on a rule about them: I only accept them once (well nominate others). It may sound harsh but I like to do posts like that well and researching bloggers to nominate, following the guidelines and setting up the post with links etc, takes a lot of work. And I barely keep up as it is. So I’ll take the first nomination, do the post then for repeat nominations I’ll still thank the blogger, but not do a huge post. lol. did that sound repetitive?

  16. Yes, I am planning to move to Cairo in August with one of our daughters. I will teach at an international school and she will attend. Hubby will stay behind as he has a fantastic job at home. Together for Christmas but in Cambodia. So it will allow us to travel more in that region being closer to Asia and in Africa.

  17. Thank you! That’s very nice of you to say, Cheryl. I like to keep the blog as happy/positive as possible. However, I still want to write and investigate harder topics in time. There’s a lot of not so good issues here that intrigue me. It takes time to do the proper research though. It will come though 🙂 Thanks again for following me. Do you plan on traveling pretty soon?

  18. Congrats on the number of followers and all the hard work you put into your posts. You should be the El Paso Ambassador for tourism and events, if they haven’t asked you yet. I want to thank you so much for nominating me recently but I just found, that for me personally, I felt uncomfortable looking for others to pass them onto etc. when I am relatively new to blogging and slightly introverted with respect to this. I did receive one once but spent a lot of time looking and thinking who to give it to next… that it took away from reading other blogs and writing comments which I prefer to do. I think for others it works wonders and is a great thing. Thanks again for reading and following me. This, I appreciate the most when time is precious and there so many blogs out there.   20. I appreciate them. I tend to not have time to do them because I am super busy with my everyday life, but I do appreciate being nominated and make sure to tell people that.
