ABC reports TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting” was pulled off the air for now. The show hasn’t been canceled yet. This comes one day after Josh Duggar, 27, responded to reports he inappropriately touched minors several years ago. An In Touch story featured a 2006 police report from the Springdale Police Department who investigated the alleged incidents. The report was expunged on Thursday at the request of a judge because a victim could be identified directly or indirectly.  Josh admitted to People Magazine and on Facebook the following:

“Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends…I sought forgiveness from those I wronged.”

He said he and those affected went to counseling. He said the authorities were also informed of the alleged incidents.

Josh admitted the alleged actions to his father several years ago. He resigned from his position at the Family Research Council, a pro marriage and pro life Christian organization based in Washington DC. The organization recognizes marriage between one male and one female.

His wife, Ana knew about the alleged incidents before they were married. She said the following to People Magazine:

“I can imagine the shock many of you are going through reading this. I remember feeling that same shock. When my family and I first visited the Duggar home, Josh shared his past teenage mistakes.”

The show was on the air since 2008. It’s one of TLC’s highest rated programs. The family is known for being conservative Christians who are against using birth control. When the show began, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar had 17 kids. They had two more children since then.

TLC recently cancelled “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” because a character was allegedly dating a convicted child molester.

  1. I’ll admit I watched “19 and Counting” once…one too many times! I can understand exactly why you don’t watch television, Gigoid. Thank you for your perspective and comment.

  2. Having given up TV years ago, precisely because of programs like that one, I can only wonder why ANYONE at all can watch them…. period.

Even if watching as research, it would give me a hard time, to beat back the nausea it instills in me to just THINK about how ridiculously obtuse these people are, so completely clueless as to their own hypocrisy and deliberate ignorance…. Reality shows are a perfect example of how the public is responsible for every freedom they have had taken away from them, for they show absolutely no common sense, or any more learning ability than a shark…

Hmph… idiots, every one of them. I’m glad I’ve never subjected myself to any of it….

  3. the only mention of the victims was a statement by Josh saying most of them (and him) have attended therapy , they have gone so far on their blog as to tell people to be wary of what they read about the situation and about the duggers on other websites, ( as in don’t believe any of it, just believe our Dugger website and what we say)

  4. Wow! I didn’t know they had a blog, I’ll check it out. Thank you for posting it here. What about the victims? Has anyone really thought of them? I understand not putting their name out there but I mean there needs to be some compassion for them, not necessarily him so much.Thank you for your comment.

  5. it’s about time, these people have spread hate and false information about the LGBT and transgender communities for years! Michelle’s sister is a Lesbian, her eldest son is a sexual predator ( even with his own sisters) , this family isn’t as “pure” as they would have you believe, some of the comments from their supporters on their blog are just insane http://www.duggarfamilyblog.com/ if you try and comment with anything but butt kissing and ‘I’ll pray for you” they will censor it by not allowing your comment to post.

many of their supporters are saying things like: so what? he made ia mistake, he repented, it happened 12 years ago, so let it go , to typical teenage boy raging hormones behaviour …. these nutbars are actually condoning what he has done and saying it’s okay it happened 12 years ago and he is a different person now ……. yet these are the same people who state that all child molesters are homosexual and deserve life in prison etc. …. Hypocrites !
