This and That

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend was great! Yesterday, I ran errands, shopped and gambled at the casino. I also had to pay bills. Afterwards, I had lunch and went to the mall to buy work clothes. I went to JC Penney first but the line was literally around the store! It wasn’t worth waiting in. I didn’t get anything special, just two pairs of slacks and a blouse. New York & Company had a good sale so I wanted to take advantage. I love their classic yet stylish clothes. After I finished, I went to the casino. I didn’t win but luckily I didn’t lose too much.
All of these times alone make me wish I had more friends around. As I’ve gotten older, friends have come and gone. In a way, I miss my late 20s. I miss having a group of girlfriends to go out and do things with like have dinner, drinks, etc. The friends who are still here in town are caught up with their own lives. It’s rare that we get to hang out anymore. These past few months have made me realize I’ve become my own best friend. I’ve enjoyed hanging out by myself lately. However, there are times when I’d rather spend time with friends. I’ve enjoyed all of my WordPress friends very much. It would be great if you all were here to have drinks or go to a movie,Β  a game, something! Hopefully one of these days!
After the mall, I went home to watch the U.S. and Mexico soccer match. It was a great match! Feel free to read the reblogged post I included yesterday.
Today, I ran more errands and did chores around the house. I also watched the depressing Cowboys game.
I don’t know about you but I don’t have the day off tomorrow. Tomorrow is Columbus Day. I don’t think it should be a holiday. I don’t think he was a hero for different reasons. Based on what I’ve read and studied throughout the years, Columbus was a monster! He killed and abused many Native Americans. He allowed his men to do the same. I’m glad some states observe the day as Indigenous Peoples Day. Albuquerque will observe their first Indigenous Peoples Day tomorrow. It’s a great city to do so because they have a large Navajo population. El Paso has the Tigua Indians. However, El Paso still observes Columbus Day. I hope that will change in time. Have a goodnight, everyone! Until next time!
P.S. I plan on sharing a photo or two of art from Chalk the Block soon! Some of the art is still on display. I hope I’ll also be attending Earth, Wind and Fire in November at the University of Texas-El Paso. I enjoy their music a lot!

  1. Thank you for reading and commenting πŸ™‚ I also like that New York & Company always has good sales! Their accessories are nice too! I almost bought a purse too! Lol. If you’re ever in El Paso, we’ll definitely hang out! Have a goodnight! Hugs!

  2. One of my favorite dresses ( like one of two that I own lol) comes from New York & Company…I .like that their clothes have a sophisticated and timeless look. I totally get what you mean about wishing for more of like a core group of friends to hang out with…I love people but I can only socialize in spurts…I find it draining as I’m a bit of a homebody and just like to chill in my castle lol. WordPress has certainly helped me be less of a hermit oddly enough lol…I would totally hang out with you if logistics weren’t an issue πŸ™‚ Oh and the Columbus Day thing…yeah I have to agree with you there…I think it’s great people are spinning it around and paying homage to those who truly settled this land. Take care! πŸ™‚ xo
