The Voice

Hi everybody! I hope your Monday was good! Mine was whatever…in between good and bad. The good thing about Monday here is that I get to leave work early. I leave at 3 because I have to wait for my son to get home from school. I don’t have anyone to take care of him on Mondays. Mondays are also for grocery shopping and just recently my new favorite show, The Voice. The show now consumes my Monday and Tuesday evenings. I never watched the show until I saw the commercials within the past few weeks. I also read about it here some months back on T. Wayne’s blog. Check out his blog here if you haven’t already. He usually writes about music and sports. I always enjoy reading his posts. Sorry guys, he isn’t a Dallas Cowboys fan like myself. He’s a Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan. T. Wayne also has some excellent music choices.

I love to hear and watch the singers battle for an advanced spot in the competition. A lot of the singers are teenagers but look and sound much older. The contestants sing new and old songs. One of the contestants, Victor sang Alicia Keys’ “If I ain’t got you” tonight. I think he did an excellent job! He hit the high notes very well throughout the song. I’m beginning to get the hang of the show a little bit more every week. I also like that the singing coaches aren’t as mean as other reality competition shows. They respect the contestants and each other. Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and country superstar Blake Shelton have a little bit of rivalry going on. However, it’s nothing too extreme. Their jokes towards each another are pretty funny. Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams are pretty nice too. The show also features guest music stars like Missy Elliot, Rihanna and others. The guest musicians offer coaching to the contestants. If you don’t have a favorite program on Monday or Tuesday evenings, I highly recommend The Voice. Warning: The show can become an addiction in only a short period of time! Have a goodnight everyone! Until next time!

  5. I still shake my head at my ignorance…LOL I was so amazed at how spread out your little village was…LOL last time I took the by pass on the eastside through so I didn’t get caught in the middle of the city….however it is a beautiful city….kat

  10. Hi Kathy! Lol. I still hear that sometimes. One time a cousin from LA asked me if we ride horses over here! El Paso is still growing a lot. Thank you for following! 🙂

  11. I know! He was better than Jordan! I’m glad he was stolen by Pharrell. He was my favorite that night. I think it’s the best show on Monday and Tuesday nights. Before I started watching, I was only watching the History Channel, sometimes Monday Night Football.

  12. Wow, that escalated quickly….from not watching it to it becoming your new favorite show!
    Thanks for the shout out, too! The last knockout battle was the best of the night, and it was good that Viktor, though he lost, was stolen by Pharrell. He should be around for the live playoffs; I thought he was better than some of the other winners by miles.

  14. thanks for stopping by my blog…I love your picture at the top of your page…it was so funny the first time I had ever been to El Paso was in 2012, I told my husband lets stop and eat there should be a few restaurants to pick from…LOL I was thinking El Paso was a really small village like back in the John Wayne movies….LOL don’t ask what I was thinking…but I was so busy just trying to drive through your massive city…..I look forward to following you on your blog….kathy
