Hi everyone! Today I have an interview with our fellow blogger, Teresa ‘Terri’ Smeigh, also known as Tessa from Tessa Can Do It and Finally a Writer. She is very open and honest about how she feels in her blogs. Tessa has a great story about her ups and downs in life. She also serves as an advocate for mental illness.
Me: How and when did you start your blog? I actually started my first blog which was just stories and poems, mainly fiction in June 2012. What I consider my main blog for advocacy for mental illness I started on Feb 28, 2015. It hasn’t passed its first year yet and I have changed the way I was going to go with it.
Me: For those who don’t know about you or your blog, what is your blog about? I started my blog out as a journal and helpful articles for Mental Health and Invisible illnesses, such as Fibromyalgia. Although my blog is still about that, I have made it so that I am advocating for Mental Illness mainly Bipolar Disorder, which I have myself along with other disorders and Fibromyalgia and Degenerative Disc Disease which is a spinal disorder.
Me: When did you first start writing? When I was in about 8th grade. I wrote poems. I took a writing class and wrote stories in high school.
Me: What future plans do you have for your blog? I plan to continue specializing in Bipolar and other mental health disorders and doing what I can to advocate and to eliminate stigma.
Me: If you had to describe yourself using one word, what would the word be and why? Caring. I truly care for others in my situation and want to help them.
Me: What motivates you the most in life and why? Writing, any kind, even researched articles.
Me: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Believe it or not, it is writing. I can’t get enough of it.
Me: What are some of your favorite things in life? Pet peeves? I love the woods and the flowers, I hate cruelty to animals and humans.
Me: What’s one of the best things about your hometown and why? Small, easygoing community. Not very big in my area, but it is spread out in several different areas in the county, so it isn’t really as small as we think. We forget those other areas since other towns are mingled in.
Me: What’s a little known fact nobody really knows about you? I may appear as a little mouse, but this mousie roars if you push the right buttons.
Thank you for doing it!
