Thank you to Scales Simple for coming up with this wonderful challenge! Here are the rules below:
The Rules:
- Include the photo below in each blog post.
- You may start at any point in December.
- Use the topic supplied for the post of that day.
- Make sure all posts are in December, but they don’t have to be posted consecutively (lets face it it’s a busy time).
- Nominate 3 people after each blog to start the challenge.
- Have fun!
Today is Day 1 for me. It includes listing my favorite things about Christmas. Here are my favorite things during the Christmas season.
*The food for sure! Me and some of my family members make tamales a few days before Christmas every year. It doesn’t feel like Christmas if we don’t make them. Our Christmas meal includes three kinds of tamales, ham or turkey, chile con queso with tostadas (cheese dip and corn chips), Mexican rice and beans. Hint hint, guess what my post will be about tomorrow and most likely next week when we’re making them?
*Christmas sweets like egg nog, champurrado (a thick Mexican hot cocoa with cinnamon and caramel) cookies, candy, cakes, pies and chocolate. My favorite cookies are chocolate chip with pecans.
*Christmas decorations like Christmas trees, tree ornaments and home light displays. I always enjoy decorating the Christmas tree with my son.
*Watching Christmas movies and specials including Elf, A Christmas Story, Home Alone, The Polar Express and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
*My son opening Christmas gifts with excitement will always be priceless. I’ll cherish the moments for many years to come. Him being able to open his Christmas gifts is one of the reasons I continue working at my day job.
Today I’m nominating the following bloggers to participate:
I know this is a long challenge and we are busy during this time of the year. There is no pressure at all to participate. I hope you will but if not I completely understand.

I love what all wonderful things you love about Christmas, Lisa! I feel honored that you considered me for this challenge. Thank you so very much! As you know I already do the 24 Days of Grateful. I hope you don’t mind it, but I don’t want to add another daily challenge. I hope I did not disappoint you. But you know what? In order to show you how much I appreciate it, I will mention your nomination in my “Grateful” posts!
