Flashback Friday: “Let’s Groove”

Check out T. Wayne’s Flashback Friday every week! I’m a big Earth, Wind & Fire fan so how could I NOT reblog this one? They’re great in concert! I had the opportunity to see them a couple of months ago here in El Paso.

A Joyful Process

Locally we have a radio station that has a classic lunch hour—meaning, they play some songs from the sixties through the early eighties from noon to one o’clock. Yesterday, I heard “Let’s Groove” by Earth, Wind & Fire. That song just so happens to be their biggest R&B hit-topping the Earth_Wind_and_Fire_Walk_of_Fame_4-20-06chart for eight weeks back in 1981. At the time, I loved that song so much—as a big fan of Earth, Wind & Fire (they were my favorite band at that time)—they could do no wrong. But now, in the cold light of history, I feel bittersweet about the song. Because I can see now, what I couldn’t see then—”Let’s Groove” was the last real high point for the group.   1. the 60’s and 70’s had the best music! the 80’s was alright. But you know I shouldn’t judge, all music comes from the same creative source so it can’t be bad. Talked my way around that didn’t I haha 🙂 have a great day!
