Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you’re having a good day so far! I know I said I didn’t have any New Years resolutions but…I kind of changed my mind this week. I’ve decided to quit drinking soda. I’m very addicted to Coca Cola! I crave it all the time, especially when I’m at work. I’m now on day 2 of not drinking any. I know I’m barely on day 2 but it’s been really hard not to drink it! I enjoy the flavor and fizz of it. I also like the burn as you’re drinking it. I’ve given it up before but for some reason it feels like it’s so much harder to do these days. I’m still drinking tea but not more soda! I want to lose about 15 to 20 pounds so this is another reason why I’m not drinking it anymore. I also plan on working out more than I have last year. I used to go to the gym at least three times a week but I’ve been slacking in that area. How about you? Did you decide to give up anything this year? How is it going so far? Please stay tuned for my Saturday Evening Interview later on today! I have a pretty good one this week! I haven’t forgotten to do a post of those who won from my blog party last week so please stay tuned for that post as well! Enjoy your Saturday and I’ll see you later!
Great! Keep going too! 🙂

I can imagine. I will probably replace it with fresh fruit juices. I am not a fan of sparkling water. I haven’t had any this week so will just keep going. Stay strong.

It’s not easy at all right now but I’m sure one day I’ll feel better. I’ve noticed I’m sleeping more at night. Let me know if you decide to do it. I’m drinking sparkling water and it’s not the same.

That’s great. Hoping it gets easier with time. May give this a try.

It’s very hard! I’m on day four now. Thanks! 🙂

Best of luck! I was a die hard coke drinker and when I gave up sodas it was the hardest thing ever. I’m good though. It took about 30 days before I stopped craving them.

Believe me, I feel your pain! I’m now on day three of no Coke! Lol. I’ve had relapses before too. It’s a hard habit to get rid of!

Pepsi is my vice. I’ve been doing good though with not buying it. I have my moments of weakness every now and then, yesterday, in fact, but try not to beat myself over it when I do! I think when we deprive ourselves of something we love, we crave it more because then it becomes taboo. If we allow ourselves the little slip ups every now and again, it’s a lot better and the cravings start to thin out more and more — except for those really stressful days when they’re back in full force, then I have to start over again.

I used to run a lot but my knees are messed up bad now. When I’d go to the gym, I’d ride the bike or do the treadmill, also work on abs and weights. I need to start again! Oh no, I don’t like Diet Coke or Zero! 😦 I made it two days so far! Lol.

I used to drink a lot of Coca-Cola then switched to Diet Coke and Coke Zero. Of course, I also drink at least three bottles of water per day. For exercise I jog 3 miles five times a week. I don’t always like it but I do enjoy the extra rush of endorphines.

Lol. I prefer Coke but Pepsi comes in at a close second. Well no take that back, Dr. Pepper is second then Pepsi. Pepsi is real sweet!

I don’t think they taste the same either! They’re both terrible for us, whichever we prefer 🙂

I haven’t given it up completely but I can understand the struggle of trying to give up Pepsi. You’re a lot stronger than me lol

Wow! They all sound good! Thanks again for suggesting them! I’m going to buy some soon. 🙂

My personal favorites are the lemon or lime. I really want to try mango and coconut as well. 🙂 I like them because the flavor is very subtle, so they are refreshing without a sugary aftertaste.

I completely understand! I had never tried it until Sadie at SadiesNest.com mentioned it on her blog. 🙂 I saw it at the store one day, and we love it! 😉

We don’t have Whole Foods here… but I saw on their website they have it at Albertson’s, Target and Sprouts. I guess I never paid attention to it. I had never heard of it! I was too busy buying soda. Lol.

You’re very welcome! If you can’t find it in a grocery store, Whole Foods usually carries it. 🙂

I wasn’t drinking soda for a year and I started again last year. It’s hard to quit now! Lol. Thanks!

I gave up sodas two years ago…drink tea and water now. I don’t miss them anymore. Every now and then I’ll flavor the water, but mostly plain. Good luck!

I think Diet Coke and regular Coke don’t taste the same at all. I don’t think I’ve heard of La Croix. I’ll look for it. Thanks for the comment! 🙂

We stopped drinking soda a few years ago and feel so much better! If you like something carbonated, you could try La Croix. 🙂 Sparkling water with a hint of natural flavor. 😉

Soda is a hard one to give up, no matter how many articles I read on how bad it is – I still want it sometimes. However, when I’m at work during the week I drink water and hot tea and at home during the week I drink water and sometimes hot tea. So the soda really comes into play on the weekends – which I think isn’t too bad and it’s only if we go out to eat, go to a friends house or if friends come over and I want something tasty to drink.

It was easy for me to give up pop because I got so sick from drinking it everyday!

I used to drink a lot of Diet Coke and finally gave it up except for a rare one. I drink La Croix now, have you tried those? They’re just a carbonated flavored water, but I think they’re better than some other ones I’ve tried.

I don’t like diet at all
I’ve been drinking tea to get through it. It’s not the same but better than cold turkey I guess. Thanks for the vote of confidence, Kara! 🙂 I’m a little moody without it. Lol.

Thanks Sharon! I’ve done it before but I guess you can say I relapsed. Lol. Hopefully you become more active. Go forth and conquer! 🙂

Good for you! I gave up soda years ago. I don’t miss it but getting through the withdrawl was not a fun thing. One of my goals this year is to be more active. My back is much better so I can move with less pain. Being more active and getting physically stronger will help me improve more.
I was going to say good luck, but that is implying a tiny bit of negative energy so instead I will say
Go Forth and Conquer!!

That’s a good one! I quit drinking regular soda about 10 years ago and switched to diet while I transitioned (pepsi was my addiction!). I do love the carbonation, so I get flavored sparkling water every once in a while. Good luck, you can do eet!

good job on giving up soda. I gave up on it other than an occasional root beer.
