Super Bowl Sunday

Hi everyone! I hope your Super Bowl Sunday was great! I didn’t expect Denver to pull off a 24-10 win against the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 but…they did! In a way, I was hoping Denver would win. It’s probably Peyton Manning’s last year of football. I’m sure Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers have a few good years of football left in them. I unfortunately didn’t win anything from the pot at work! My grandparents spoiled us rotten with food today. We had a barbecue platter from Famous Dave’s. It included ribs, pulled pork, brisket, fries, corn on the cob, corn bread, cold slaw and baked beans. My grandma also made a pot of chile con queso (cheese dip).

Besides the game, I enjoyed Lady Gaga’s version of the National Anthem, along with the halftime show with Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Beyonce. I’m not really a Beyonce fan but she did alright. I’m really loving Coldplay’s latest song, “Adventure of a Lifetime.” I enjoyed seeing them live in concert back in 2005. I saw them in Albuquerque. Can you believe I was about five months pregnant when I saw them in concert? Lol. The only commercial I really liked was of monkeys and a Mountain Dew energy drink. I also liked seeing the preview of the latest “Jungle Book.” I’m going to take my son to see it. The movie premieres April 15.

How was your Super Bowl Sunday? Did you have plenty to eat? What did/didn’t you like about it? I have to admit I’m kind of sad football is now over for a few months! I guess it’s now onto NCAA men’s basketball and the NBA here. Have a goodnight everyone! Tomorrow is the dreadful Monday! Sigh!

  1. I always enjoy it, no matter which teams make it. It would be great if the Cowboys make it in my lifetime. Lol. They’ve won five so far so I can’t complain too much! The food was so good, especially the ribs!

  2. I am glad your favs won! I did not see the whole game… actually, I went to bed about 15 minutes before Coldplay although I would have loved to see them. But it was already 2.15 am… lol
But I saw Lady Gaga and I was blown away. It is a shame that this amazing voice doesn’t really get recognized in her songs. She sang the anthem in the most beautiful way I ever heard it… and she looked fantastic!

  3. I had a great day. I don’t watch TV so I didn’t watch the game. Sunday is family day. After everyone left I was able to get some work done. I have four projects going and tomorrow is the new moon so I need to prep for that. Then WordPress threw me that curveball but it’s all good.

  4. It was a terribly anticlimactic game. Not once did I feel like jumping up on the couch and screaming at the TV, although I was pretty indifferent about both teams so that may have had something to do with it. 🙂

  5. Enjoyed a wonderful Italian dinner with friends. Overall, a great day. Tomorrow it’s back to the routine. Beautiful weather in Portland which is expected to last a few days. Have a great week! Lori
