Friday Song 3-4-16

Happy Friday everyone! We finally made it though the week! Today I’m taking you back to 2000 with this catchy one by Madonna. The song still makes me want to get up and dance 16 years later! 2000 was a good year for me. I graduated from high school and started my first semester at New Mexico State. I had a high school sweetheart for about three years at the time. He was a good guy but unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be. I wasn’t ready for marriage at such a young age. I wanted to finish college and guess what else? Party! Anyway…

Speaking of Madonna, fellow blogger and good friend Erika Kind is doing Madonna week in her corner of the Internet. Her Madonna week started on Monday. Each day, she’s featured two Madonna songs from the 80’s. The 80’s was a good era for a lot of people. Back then, I was a little girl growing up in El Paso. Toys and candy were the most important things for me. Feel free to check out Erika’s Madonna week here if you haven’t already. She included hits like Into the Groove, Papa Don’t Preach, Holiday, Material Girl and others!

I also want to take a moment to say congratulations to Erika for recently publishing her latest book, 101 KIND Quotes! Erika inspires me and several others to always strive for the best! I can’t say enough good things about her. She’s been such a great and positive influence to me. Her books are available for purchase on Have a great weekend, everyone! I have a busy weekend ahead. I’ll be back with more music and posts tomorrow! I’ll also have a Saturday Evening Interview for you.

  2. Are you kidding me? I think about going back to my bleached hair and digging out my studded belts… lol!!! Yes, yes, just go ahead with the songs. May I make a wish? Madonna’s Version of American Pie 😍

  3. YEAH! Great, great pick, Lisa! Love that one! It is interesting to see how her music “grew up” during the years. Very stylish! I think that is one more reason why her 80’s songs may strike a chord at people. They make you feel young and happy-go-lucky again! She has something for everyone.
A huge hug and thank you for the lovely words you are having for me. I don’t know what to say but my heartfelt thank you. And another huge thank you for mentioning my new book! You are such a beautiful light here on the blog sphere. Always supportive and so lovely! Thank you very much for what you are doing here for us every day 💖💖💖

  4. Oh I loved this song when it came out. I was living in Germany at the time – a single work-aholic with just the one Chihuahua, Sugar. How times change – and changed drastically for me.

  5. I just heard this on the radio this week at work. First time I had heard it in a long time, and now you feature it. What are the chances?
This song reminds me of when my daughters were younger and always wanted to hear it, so it was played around the house lots of times. Good morning and Happy Friday! 😊

  6. Madonna first became a big star when I was around 15 or 16. It’s amazing to think that all these years later she’s still one of the biggest names out there. I hope your friend’s Madonna week is a big success too.
