Saturday Song 3-12-16

Good morning everyone! I hope your Saturday is going well so far! I haven’t included a lot of 80’s songs here so…today I’m taking it WAY back with Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine. Growing up, I remember my mom always listening to Gloria Estefan. She always wanted to listen to her songs on the radio and TV. To this day, I think the songs still have nice beats and lyrics. These videos made me laugh this morning. Since I haven’t included that many 80’s songs, I’m going to leave you with a few of theirs. I promise to include more songs from the 80’s and 90’s going forward 🙂 Have a great rest of the day, everyone! I’ll be back with a Saturday Evening Interview for you later on today.

This is a hilarious video! LOL. Meow!

Time to dance!

Last, but NOT least!

  1. Yes they were great memories, Lynn! I’m sorry I’m just now getting back to you! I went to another position at work and it’s go, go, go! I hope you’re doing well!

  2. This 80’s flashback made me smile. There were 2 songs my pre-school aged son was afraid of…this was one. His question…what is the rhythm and why is it after you ??? The other one that made him concerned…”Man Eater”. ☺

  3. Oh, I’m sure those styles pop up in some other place too! 🙂 Doesn’t mean they need to stick around, or be brought back into fashion lol

  4. Liked Gloria Estefan’s music back then, and her too. I remember when she had the bus accident where she was injured, but came back and had more hits. Y’all are tickling me talking about mullets and rat tails. Haven’t seen a rat tail in a while, but the mullet is still around, at least it is on this side of the Chesapeake Bay…

  5. Ah, Urban Cowboy, a classic. John Travolta played a dick, but we still loved him. 🙂 Have you ever ridden one of those bulls? Maybe they only have them at Gilley’s.

  6. I’m sure you were a dancing queen! I LOVE Saturday Night Fever! I could watch that movie over and over again. I also like the soundtrack. I wish I had grown up in that era. Different movie but I also like Urban Cowboy.

  7. Yeah, I was a dancing fool, way back when. But we didn’t dance like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever (although we wanted to). I vaguely remember sneaking into a disco when I was underage… But by the time I was old enough to get into clubs, disco was on its way out, especially in country western clubs. The electronic music of today kinda reminds me of disco. 🙂

  8. Oh lord! The mullet. My wife and I have this little game, where you count mullets at places you’re likely to see them. The bowling alley, flea markets, the state fair. Women are worth more points but the big score is a child with one. We still see them, believe it or not. 😃
