Good morning everyone! I hope your weekend is going well! Since Coachella 2016 ends today, I’m also ending my weekly series here. I’m taking you back to the first Coachella Festival in 1999. That year, Coachella hosted mostly alterative rock bands and house DJs on their stages. Although he didn’t headline (even though I think he should’ve), I’m featuring some songs by my birthday twin, Moby, along with others. I’ve had the pleasure of watching Moby perform live back in 2003 at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I was a junior in college at the time. The man knows how to put on a hell of a show! According to the official Coachella web site, other bands who headlined Coachella 1999 were: Beck, The Chemical Brothers, Morrissey, Rage Against the Machine and Tool.
Starting tomorrow, I’ll be doing a series titled, Bands My Parents Introduced me to. If you’re into classic rock, pop and jazz, feel free to check it out! Please stay tuned for my Q&A/interview later today! If you still want to add some questions to it, add them in the comments in this post, on Twitter @lma911 or by e-mailing me at: firstname.lastname@example.org Here are my music picks for today below:
A couple of my favorite Beck songs are below: I’m kind of disappointed I didn’t get to go see him when he was in town awhile back.
And last but certainly not least, a hometown band called At The Drive In played at the very first Coachella festival. Like I’ve said before, I’m always for supporting local bands, businesses and entertainment.
Have a great day everyone!
