Good morning everyone and happy Friday! I’m so glad we finally made it through this week because it was a LONG one! Things are finally starting to look up here. Please continue praying and crossing your fingers for me.
I know it’s not quite Saturday yet but tomorrow it will be! Today I’m including songs from the disco era. Throughout the 70’s, my mom liked disco music. There probably weren’t too many people who didn’t. I remember finding her dusty old record collection at my grandparent’s house sometime in the 90’s. My mom was embarrassed when I pulled out her Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and Donna Summer records. I don’t think it’s anything to be embarrassed about! I think it would’ve been fun living in the 70’s. I wouldn’t mind wearing bell bottoms and platform shoes. I would’ve also liked dancing to disco. Even though the 70’s fashion came back when I was in high school, it wasn’t the same. I owned several pairs of flare jeans and platform Mary Janes…same 70’s style with different names in the mid- 90’s.
I could watch Saturday Night Fever over and over again… and I have! I’d always watch the movie like it was the first time. I’ve always enjoyed the story line and watching John Travolta’s dance moves. I still play the soundtrack from time to time. Here are some clips from the movie, along with a couple of other disco era songs. Have a great Friday, everyone! I’ll be back later!
A great live version!
This one reminds me of… no comment LOL.
BONUS: A disco tribute medley by Selena Quintanilla-Perez

Nope. If my mother had caught me watching a movie like that, I wouldn’t have been stayin’ alive for very much longer.

How cute! You were my son’s age at the time. Ha ha a button mushroom. I’m sure your parents didn’t let you watch the movie.

I was ten when the movie came out, so I was a bit young to be going to discos. I did wear flares, shirts with collars that seemed to come down to about my waist, and have a hairstyle that completely covered my ears and made me look like a button mushroom. I look back at the photographs of myself now and think “No way!” At the time, however, it didn’t seem strange at all. It was just what everybody was wearing.

Yes! I don’t like it when a page is too cluttered. It’s kind of a turnoff.

I was the disco queen and once won a cucumber for my funky dancing. My mum was delighted because you could not get cucumbers in December in the UK. Glad to hear that things are looking up for you, long may it continue. K x
