Good morning everyone and happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Today I’m continuing with my Bands My Parents Introduced Me to series. Since it’s finally Saturday, I thought I’d go with some jazzy and relaxing music. Today I’m including a little bit of two bands, Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire. If you’ve been following me for awhile, you might remember me blogging about Earth, Wind & Fire’s concert in El Paso last November. Watching EWF was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. I had the opportunity to go to the concert with a good co-worker and friend. In case you missed the post, you can check it out here. Unfortunately my friend left the company for an opportunity of a lifetime yesterday. I’m happy for her but at the same time I’m going to miss her a lot. In a span of almost six years, I learned so many life and work lessons from her. Several people have left the company I work for but Maritza stands out for me the most.
I’m going to miss all of the happy hours we attended after work, especially at Clasico Kitchen Bar. Smokey’s and Taco Cabana happy hour meetings come in at a close second and third place. Clasico has some of the most delicious tacos and Micheladas in town. A Michelada is a beer mixed with lime juice, different sauces and spices. It’s somewhat similar to a Bloody Mary. I hate that she’s a New England Patriots fan but I still love her anyway. 😀 Good luck in all of your future endeavors, Maritza! I know you’ll do well wherever you go. You’re an asset to any company in this world. Your new company is extremely lucky to have you on board.
Speaking of friends… my blogging friend Tracy from A Joyful Process wrote an excellent review on the Chicago and Earth Wind & Fire concert he attended in Baltimore recently. You can check out the post here. Here are a few of my favorite songs from these two bands. It was hard not to pick 20 or more songs from each! Throughout my childhood, my parents played both bands on the stereo and during car trips a lot. I hope you enjoy the picks! Have a great Saturday, everyone! I’ll be back with a Saturday Evening Interview later today.
Classic!
I’ve heard this song at weddings on occasion. It’s a beautiful song for a couple’s first dance.

Thanks Erika! I think I’m going to borrow your idea of including Elton John and/or Queen. I’m doing a week two of this series. If I use either band, I’ll link a couple of your posts.
