Wednesday Song 5-4-16

Hi everyone and good morning! I hope you’re off to a great Wednesday! There was NO way I could only pick one song from Sir Elton John! He has SO many great hits from different eras. Not being able to Interview Sir Elton is something in life I regret a lot! Back when I was freelancing for a local weekly publication, the editor asked me to write a story about his upcoming concert at the Don Haskins Center at UTEP (The University of Texas-El Paso). According to Setlist.fm, he’s performed twice in El Paso. He performed on Feb. 27, 2007 and April 29, 1972 at UTEP’s Sun Bowl. Every time I was assigned a story, I’d do my best to immediately contact the musician or publicist.

I still wrote the story about his 2007 El Paso performance but his publicist unfortunately said he was busy and on tour. Sir Elton John is one musician I’ll have to watch live someday. I wouldn’t mind traveling to Las Vegas to watch one of his resident performances at Caesars Palace. I included one of my favorite covers from  FOX’s”Glee.” I never got into the show but I’ve always enjoyed “I’m Still Standing” and several other covers they did. I also included Sir Elton’s carpool karaoke skit from “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” Where has this show been all of my life? This skit is HILARIOUS! Here are some other songs I enjoy and grew up with. Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

P.S. Besides my parents, Erika Kind also inspired me to feature Elton John. Back in March, she did an Elton John week in her blog. In case you missed it, you can check it out right here.

Believe me when I say I could go on and on!

  1. Another timeless artist, and a great choice for today. So many great songs over such a broad period of time. “I’m Still Standing” is one of my favorites of his, and I also love “Bennie & The Jets” too. Thanks for sharing your love of Sir Elton with us!
