Hi everyone! I hope you’ve been having a great week! HAPPY FRIDAY! It’s been a VERY busy and productive week here! I can’t believe it’s already Friday! I’ve been working on different projects for the blog, along with others. I have a few interviews coming up here so please stay tuned! I started volunteering for the local non-profit organization, Latinitas. I was asked to serve on their advisory board on Monday. I’ll be helping them organize their yearly conferences and events, mentoring girls between the ages of 9-17 who want to pursue college and leading writing workshops for them. I’m excited about this! The meetings start in mid-June. Things are finally getting resolved with the car accident I was in almost two months ago. I’m still going to physical therapy and waiting on the insurance settlement. My son made me proud again yesterday! He received three awards at school! I can’t believe he’s already going to fifth grade in August!
A couple of readers asked if I’d quit blogging if and when life gets too busy and the answer is NO! I might not be around as much sometimes but I won’t completely leave any of you behind! I’m so grateful and humble for all of the time you’ve spent with me here. I’m so thankful to everyone who reads and comments here and on Twitter. I would miss you all too much if I completely left the blogosphere! I’m here to stay whether life becomes busier or not. I want to thank my readers who nominated me for the Most Inspirational Blog award! It means a lot to be on the ballot with various bloggers from around the world. It’s also nice to see several of my blogging buddies as nominees. You can check out the nominees and vote here. The Blogger Bash and awards ceremony takes place Saturday, June 11 in London.
A local and national headline that’s made me pretty upset is a recent hazing incident at Montwood High School here in town. Four sophomores on the team were struck with a leather whip by upperclassmen in a hazing incident. Police said the incident took place during a playoff series trip to Artesia, N.M. The team forfeited the series after losing 3-2 to Midland Lee. None of the parents pressed charges. Montwood was the No.3 seed in the state playoffs. The story makes me wonder what other crazy incidents happen in high school nowadays. SMH.

P.S. I chose The Cure for Friday’s song because they were in El Paso this past Tuesday. The British rock band performed at UTEP’s Don Haskins Center. I regret not going but I hope they come back soon! Enjoy your day, everyone! I’ll be back tomorrow with more music and a GREAT Saturday Evening Interview!
Thank you, Amiga! I voted for you too! How are you doing?
