Hi everyone! I hope your Tuesday is off to a great start! Today I have two parts of Romantic Tuesday for you. Part one includes the song “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls. I enjoyed seeing them live at Downtown El Paso’s Street Fest on Saturday. They’re a great band who interacts with the audience a lot. If you think they sound great on the radio, they sound 10 or maybe 20 times better live. I had the opportunity to interview Goo Goo Dolls a few years back.
“Iris” was originally written for the “City of Angels” movie soundtrack in 1998. Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan star in the movie. Cage plays an angel who falls in love with a human (Meg Ryan). He has to determine whether he wants to become a human to stay with his love or remain immortal. The “City of Angels” soundtrack and movie are beautifully written. In case you want to follow along, this YouTube video includes the song’s lyrics. Please stay tuned for part two of Romantic Tuesday! I will have it for you later on today. I’ll be including a romantic Mexican/Aztec folktale. Have a great rest of the day, everyone!
Yes! They’re awesome live. Thanks for checking out the post!

Me too Peggy! That soundtrack is very good. I did that to my parents a few times. 😹 You introduced your kids to good music. Thank you for your comment and for always coming by!

Have always loved the song ‘Iris’. Thanks for the share because my kids ‘ran away’ with my Goo-Goo Dolls CD.
