Friday Song 7-1-16

Hi everyone! Happy Friday and three-day weekend (for some of us anyway). I can’t believe it’s already July! This year has gone by pretty fast! It’s been a strange but somewhat good year so far. I’m ready to see what else is in store.

Today I’m taking you back to 2008 with Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance.” She wrote this song in just 10 minutes while she was hungover and facing depression. If that isn’t true music talent then I don’t know what is! It was the song that changed her life forever. The song was nominated for a Grammy but lost to Daft Punk. Ten million copies were sold worldwide.

I’ve always been a fan of Lady Gaga and her music. I favor people who are different and unique. You know, why fit in when you’re meant to stand out? According to Wikipedia, Lady Gaga told Contactmusic.com the song is a happy one that’s supposed to be appreciated by people going through rough times like losing a job or home. Lady Gaga said “Everyone is looking for a song that really speaks to the joy in our souls and in our hearts and having a good time. It’s just one of those records. It feels really good when you listen to it, it makes you feel good inside. It’s as simple as that. I don’t think it’s rocket science when it comes to the heart. I think it’s a heart theme song.”

Enjoy the rest of your day and weekend everyone! I’ll be back tomorrow with some local music. I’ll include some more posts throughout the three-day weekend. Please stay tuned for the blogger event poll within the next week or so.
