Hi everyone. I’m really disappointed and sad over everything that’s happened over the last few days in the U.S. You’ve probably heard about the black men who were fatally shot by police officers in different U.S. cities. You’ve also heard about the police officers who were shot and killed in Dallas. Here’s coverage from the Dallas Morning News website right here. Many celebrities like John Legend, Halle Berry and Mandy Moore have even voiced their opinions throughout social media. You can check out their reactions here. My blogging buddy and brother, Tracy shared his feelings about this unfortunate tragedy. You can take a look at it here. Tracy is celebrating a milestone birthday on Sunday…he’s turning 50! Happy early birthday, Tracy!
It’s sad and tragic that these incidents continue happening in 2016! It makes me wonder how many other similar situations have happened and aren’t even reported by the media. Racism and hate unfortunately aren’t things of the past. They might have somewhat disappeared but they are still around. I think the best thing to do is…continue teaching our children to accept others from different cultures, religions, sexual orientations, etc. I know I’ve said this before but I will say it again…we are all human! We all eat, sleep and bleed red, regardless of the color of our skin, our religion, sex, sexual orientation, the list goes on! When will enough be enough? My heart goes out to all of the victims and their families.
I planned on including a happy Friday song but today isn’t the day for it. I thought Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” was a good pick considering everything that’s happened throughout the week. I know I said I would have a Saturday Evening Interview tomorrow but unfortunately I don’t. I’m postponing the Saturday Evening Interviews until August. Going forward I may only do one a month, I’m not sure yet. I currently have a few in the works. I will be back tomorrow with more music and posts. Take care everyone.
Hi Keith! Thank you for stopping by! I couldn’t agree with you more.

Lisa, this is an appropriate song. We must come together and listen to each other. Violence is not the answer. Thanks, Keith

That would be awesome, Sharon! We have to teach our children this more often.

I look forward to the day when people grow up and understand the we are all brothers and sisters and that the color of our skin makes absolutely no difference whatsoever!

Were you close to the shootings in Dallas, Suzette? I hope not! I don’t know what to expect anymore. I just try and take it a day at a time.

Great post, Lisa. So many of us have gone silent this week. Those who lived through the 1960’s are living with flashbacks to that turbulent time. Wish we had gotten further by now. Thanks. 💕
