Sunday Song Madonna July 31, 2016

Hi everyone! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend! I’ve been kind of busy over here! I’m never too busy for you though ;)! Today I’m taking you back to 1987 with Madonna’s “Who’s That Girl.” “Who’s That Girl” is both a movie and song. Although the movie was considered a flop, the Who’s That Girl World Tour was really successful. According to Wikipedia, the tour grossed $25 million while the movie grossed $7.3 million. However, 6 million copies of the movie’s soundtrack were sold worldwide.

Don’t ask me why but when I was a kid I enjoyed watching the movie over and over again on VHS or cable TV. I was only 6 at the time so I don’t think I even understood what it was about. I think I liked it because of this song. In a nutshell, the movie is a comedy and love story. Madonna was accused of murdering her boyfriend but she didn’t commit the crime. She’s asked to leave New York City back to Philadelphia after she’s released from prison. I don’t want to spoil the movie in case you watch it. 😀 I haven’t seen the movie in years but I’m thinking of watching it in the near future.

A couple of other bloggers like Tracy and Erika have included Madonna in their blogs. Since it’s kind of hard to only pick one Madonna song, Erika devoted a whole week to her! Feel free to check out their blog posts by clicking on their names. Madonna’s music is timeless for me. Several of her songs take me back to my childhood. How about you? Do any special memories come to mind whenever you hear a Madonna song? Feel free to leave comments! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and I’ll be back Monday with more music.

  1. She was my youngest daughters’ favorite. One year, I drew a picture of Madonna for her. She still has it…displayed on her wall.
LOL. After that, she wanted me to draw Brad Pitt. I don’t draw anymore…so she’s left wanting. Poor baby! LOL
