Hi everyone! I hope your Saturday is going well! Today’s Saturday Evening Interview is with Lennon Carlyle from Fabulous with Glitches. If you enjoy laughing and having a great time, Lennon’s blog is the place to be! I really enjoy her jokes and music selections! Please check out/follow her blog if you aren’t already. Please help me welcome Lennon to Life of an El Paso Woman. Please join us near my fluffy couch with some mango and watermelon margaritas. I brought enough for everyone! 🙂 I think Lennon likes tequila shots so I brought some of those too!
ME: How long have you been writing? Since I was a child probably. I remember winning a writing contest in middle school when I was around fourteen about my Mom getting hit by a train. ME: 😢
ME: What made you decide to start blogging? Tell us more about your blog and what it’s about. My wild and crazy friend Lex Jones inspired me to start a blog. She’s so talented and writes about erotica and I thought why not try something new and I’m thrilled that I did. My blog is a fusion of humorous life stories, heartbreak and encouraging people including myself to be happy with our lives.
ME: Who inspires you to write and why? This is an easy one…you and every blogger I come across inspires me. I don’t read many books. Instead, I prefer consuming as many blogs as I can. I love the interaction with other bloggers and knowing that I can comment and hear back from them. Why do bloggers like yourself inspire me? Because you’re different than me and live somewhere else and have different life stories to share. I can’t get enough of learning about people and their lifestyles or their emotions. ME: Aww, you’re too kind, Lennon! Thank you! 🙂
ME: What are your goals for your blog? Can we expect anything new? Goals for my blog…sigh…I need to set some. Currently my blog situation is maybe three or four posts a week. Work has me by the balls if I had any Ha. By the time I get home from work I’m mentally exhausted. But, I would like to post seven days a week. That’s a start on a goal I suppose. Something new? I just started a little series on female music artists on Sundays so I hope that will take off and people will enjoy it.
ME: What sets your blog apart from others and why? I believe that my writing is sometimes abrasive, humorous, blunt, very real and sometimes raw. That’s what possibly sets my blog apart from others? Why? I think have a talent in the way that I write because it’s like I’m sitting down having a shot of tequila with you at a bar somewhere in downtown Atlanta and loosened up and just say what’s on my mind the way I want to say it, hope that makes sense. ME: Yes it does make sense:)
ME: If you had to describe yourself in one word, which one would it be and why? Confident – Why? Because I’m comfortable with myself. I know exactly who I am and I’m happy.
ME: What’s one of your favorite quotes in life and why? It’s a long one, sorry 😦 ME: No need to apologize, my friend! Your favorite quote is on point. “If you’re not being treated with love and respect, check your price tag. Perhaps you have marked yourself down. It’s you who tells people what you’re worth by what you accept. Get off the clearance rack and get behind the glass where they keep the valuables. Learn to value yourself more. If you don’t, no one else will.” I know it sounds cheesy but it’s so true. If people would just love themselves and know their worth other people would see it in them. I wish that I had a magic wand and could make every person in this world feel loved, accepted and beautiful…
ME: What are you doing if you aren’t blogging? As Rihanna sings “Work Work Work Work Work Work” Ha! How pathetic I know right? I work probably 50 – 60 hours a week selling industrial parts and even bring work home with me at times. If I’m not working or blogging I’m taking in the local stuff here in the Atlanta area from comic con to car shows, festivals, concerts, etc. Occasionally there will be an adventure traveling somewhere. When I am lazy I veg out on the sofa eating pizza and watch senseless reality TV.
ME: If I were visiting your hometown, what would you recommend doing for fun? I would take you to Six Feet Under which is a restaurant/bar across from the Oakland Cemetery where we would eat fantastic seafood and have cocktails. After that we would check out a comedy show at night at the Laughing Skull Lounge. During the day we would most likely take a tour seeing where movies and TV shows are filmed including the Walking Dead, Vampire Diaries, and much much more. Of course there’s always incredible coffee bars along the way too. ME: Atlanta sounds like a fabulous place to visit…except for the time I got stuck at the airport on my way to Orlando. That, my friends was no bueno! Look, the margaritas are already bringing out the feisty side of me! 😛
ME: Is there anything else you would like to add? THANK YOU sooooo much for wanting to interview me. I”m just so humbled and honored that you would think of me. I absolutely love your blog and hope to meet you next year in person at the convention in Chicago! ME: Thank you for stopping by, Lennon! I had a great time! Stop by anytime! I hope you can make it to the U.S. Blogging event next September in Chicago!
