“Caso Cerrado” Warning: NSFW

I don’t understand why this show is all the rage nationwide (maybe in other countries too?) but it is these days! Well OK, I take that back! When I tell you about some of the discussed cases and topics, they might actually sound amusing to you. I hear about this court type show at work, from my mom and other family members pretty often! The cases are based on real life cases with extremely dramatized twists to them. Cuban-born American raised attorney Ana Maria Polo is the arbitrator. The show happens in Miami Monday-Friday on Telemundo. Some of the cases involve nosy suegras (mother-in-laws), porn stars, disliking the police, Donald Trump calendars and then there’s the case my parent’s friend and insurance agent starred in a few weeks back…

I couldn’t stop laughing the other day when my mom told me about a case involving my parent’s friend, Angel Herrera. Angel Herrera is my parent’s insurance agent. He also appears in various local commercials here in El Paso. Mr. Herrera was only acting in the case, this didn’t actually happen to him in real life (I sincerely hope not). This is a nasty story so if you don’t like nasty stories, please stop reading here. His case involved him having an affair with a prostitute. His pretend ‘wife’ found out he was messing around with the prostitute and chorizo (Mexican sausage). Mr. Herrera was placing the chorizo inside of the prostitute in inappropriate places. Yeah…so he ended up in ‘court’ with his ‘wife.’ I still can’t believe some of the cases that are revealed on the show. I guess it’s no wonder the show’s been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award.

A co-worker rushes home to watch the show throughout the work week. The other day she was telling me about another wacky case involving a 12-year-old prostitute/drug addict with a baby. She was about to cry as she was telling me the story. Child Protective Services took away the child because she was an irresponsible parent. I almost started believing the story until I heard my mom’s story. Have you ever seen or heard of this show? If you have, what do you think of it? I have yet to watch a complete episode of it. I mostly stick to “Divorce Court” because well why not?  It’s usually on whenever I’m at lunch anyway.

  1. My mom loves it too! Ha ha! She says she asked the local actor/her friend that came out if the cases were real and he said yes! He said only the actors were different. I 💖 Netflix! The Walking Dead mmm not so much. Thanks for the comment 🙂

  2. My mother-in-law is obsessed with it. We catch it once in a while when she’s here visiting, or when we stop by her house and the show happens to be on. I always figured it was fake. Some of those cases are tooo unreal. But, she loves it. I’ll stick to The Walking Dead and Netflix movies 🙂

  4. No, I think our routine changed so we weren’t right by the TV at the time the show came on.
I think Taco memorized the opening song though, haha, hilarious.

She’s a judge AND an awesome singer. That’s talent 😉

  6. Hubby and I used to watch it all the time. We figured it was actors because the scenarios are too unreal. It’s entertaining though!
Mostly, I like Dra Polo. She’s cool, haha.

  7. No it goes back to the 1970’s. I’d have to google it to pull all the facts.
It was first thought to be an urban legend but the band confirmed it was, indeed, true.

  8. That sounds like how some of my friends can’t wait to watch Divorce Court and shows like those. I’ve never wanted to watch those shows.

A chorizo with a prostitute though? WTH?
