Hi everyone! I hope your Sunday is going well! I got a shot on my neck and back this past Friday. I think it’s already starting to help. I don’t feel 100 percent (yet) but I feel a little bit better. I’m not as sore as before. Today I’m taking you WAY back to 1975 with War’s “Don’t Let No One Get You Down.” Several of War’s songs are considered to be some of the hottest oldies. A lot of oldies also include love songs from the 60’s and 70’s. Oldies remind me of relaxing on a Sunday afternoon. El Paso DJ Mike Guerrero plays oldies on his radio program, “The Fox Jukebox” on Sundays from noon to 8 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. You can listen to the radio program live right here. If you like Motown, Funk and R&B, I recommend this show to you. Listeners also call in to dedicate songs to their loved ones. The dedications make me laugh sometimes. Guerrero also has a Facebook page that includes low riders, pachuco culture (El Paso culture) and more. You can check it out/like the page here.
A relaxing Sunday or Sunday Fun Day for some El Pasoans includes having a barbecue with loved ones, along with taking a cruise to places like downtown, Ascarate Park and/or Scenic Drive. Some of my favorite barbecue foods include: hamburgers, hot dogs, steak, corn on the grill, baked potatoes, potato salad, baked beans, the list goes on! The doctor wasn’t lying when he said I’d be really hungry for the next few days after the shot. What’s your idea of a relaxing Sunday?
