Hi everyone and Happy Saturday! The Sun City Music Festival will be held this weekend at Ascarate Park. The festival brings in several local and worldwide EDM (electronic dance music) and House DJs. This is the sixth year the festival takes place. Although The Chainsmokers were here in July for a summer bash concert, they are headlining tonight’s SCMF with Skrillex. The New York City DJs, (Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall) broke into the mainstream music scene in 2014. Their hit “#Selfie” peaked on the U.S. and U.K. Billboard Top 100 charts. Today’s song and “Roses” became top 10 U.S. singles. “Don’t Let Me Down” is played on the radio here every few hours. Have you heard it before? What do you think of it? After El Paso, the duo will perform in NYC and Las Vegas this Labor Day weekend. In other news…
A happy birthday goes out to my blogging buddy, Ritu from But I Smile Anyway. Check out/buy her poetry book, “Poetic RITUals” on Amazon. Have a great day, everyone! I’ll be back later with a Saturday Evening Interview.
Thank you for checking it out. I’ll be checking out your blog 🙂

Great read on The Chainsmokers. 🙂 2016 was a great year for them. Just when you thought they peaked with ‘Don’t Let Me Down’, they dropped ‘Closer’ and pretty much dominated the charts for the rest of the year. 🙂
I am a blogger too and recently made a list of some underrated EDM tracks of 2016. You can check it out here. I would love to hear your thoughts on the same: https://theentertainmentlister.wordpress.com/

I enjoy the beat more than anything in this song. The girl’s voice is alright but yea she does sound like another female pop artist.

It was a hugely popular song, but I think it’s just OK. It has a fun beat, but sounds like so many other hit songs by young female singers these days.

The girl that’s singing is Daya. She’s not a part of Chainsmokers. Now that you bring it up, she does kind of sound like Sia! Thanks for listening to it and reblogging, Sonni! 🙂

…….This is a good tune – and a good blog to follow

It’s a good tune, but my first thought was how much it sounds like Sia. I had seen her new video this morning. The song punches the notes the same way – I’m not knocking it, though. I enjoyed it.
