Friday Song, etc. 11-18-16

Hi everyone and happy Friday! I hope you’ve been having a good week! I’m happy I was able to get away for a day to New Mexico this week. In case you missed my review, you can check it out here. I spent the rest of the week applying for jobs. In a few days (Nov. 25 to be exact) it’ll be a month since I’ve been unemployed. Luckily, I had some money saved and I’m getting unemployment. I had an interview on Monday but I don’t think it went well. It only lasted about five minutes! I actually spent more time waiting for the person! I’ve never had an interview last that long, especially if they’re interested in hiring me.

I’ve been hearing this song on the radio and it’s really grown on me. The song was released in June as the lead single for the movie, “Suicide Squad.” I have yet to watch the movie but I’m thinking of going to watch it this weekend. The reviews weren’t that great so I wasn’t in a hurry to see it. “Heathens” has peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. According to Wikipedia, the song leaked on the Internet one day before it was released. Twenty One Pilots became the third rock act to have two hits on the top five 100 singles. They are behind Elvis Presley and The Beatles. “Heathens” has reached the top 10 music charts in more than 15 countries. What do you think of this song? Have you seen “Suicide Squad?” If you have, how was it? Have a good weekend, everyone! I’ll see you soon!

  1. Ooh how nice! I’ve always wanted to go to Spain! I’ve read a lot about it. I like music from Eminem’s first albums too. He’s supposed to have a new album sometime next year. I’m not sure what to expect! Blogs are awesome! I learn so much from reading them.

  2. I am from Madrid, Spain. I am a huge Bob Dylan fan, but still love everything that is good to my ears. I like the first Eminem and a lot of more recent bands, like Eels (though they started in the late 90’s) I would like to know more about the latest bands and singer/songwriters. I try to keep informed, but it is hard when I am so disconnected but through my blog and the internet

  3. I see. Yea, I don’t like a lot of the new music but this song is an exception. New rap especially disappoints me. I’m still listening to a lot of stuff from the 90’s. If you don’t mind me asking, where are you from?

  4. Oh no, it’s only that I rarely watch TV or listen to the mainstream music so why I am a bit away from what is popular nowadays, but I am still interested in good music, whatever it is. If it sounds good to me that’s always welcome and I soon become eager to know about the songwriters or the bands that produced such music. So, it is my pleasure as I am glad to get in touch with the latest sounds, especially those that are popular worldwide.
