#RomanticTuesday 11-22-16

Hi everyone! I hope your week’s going well so far! For today’s Romantic Tuesday post, I wanted to share the latest “Beauty and the Beast” movie trailer. The trailer was released this month. The movie will be in theaters on March 17, 2017. After I watched the trailer, it seems like it’s the same story as Disney’s 1991 animated version. I’m familiar with some of the cast members such as: Emma Watson as Belle, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere the candle, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts the teapot and Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s father. Even though I haven’t watched all of the episodes yet, I was a fan of the TV show from the 80’s. I was 10 when the Disney movie was released in 1991 and I loved it. I saw the Broadway version of the play a few years ago. I’m excited to watch the movie in March. I don’t think my son wants to watch it though :/ I plan to watch “Beauty and the Beast” at the IMAX theater. How about you, do you plan on watching it? Why or why not?

Although there’s several covers of the song, “Beauty and the Beast,” I’m including the original by Peabo Bryson and Celine Dion. Wikipedia says the song won a Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Original Song. It also won two Grammy Awards. The song also peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2004, the American Film Institute officially recognized “Beauty and the Beast” as one of the greatest songs in film history. It was ranked at 62nd. I think it should’ve been ranked higher.

P.S. On another happy note, I want to say happy birthday to my mom! Thank you for supporting this blog and visiting often. I wish you many more years of good health and happiness…and of course, how about them Cowboys?! Love your daughter, Lisa a.k.a. El Paso Woman and your grandson, Jacob. We love you!

  1. I am just finding out about your blog as I recently started blogging myself! Firstly, given the date the entry was written, that is also my mom’s birthday but also my dad’s as well as their anniversary!

The 1991 Beauty and the Beast movie brings back a lot of childhood memories for sure and this one will be interesting to watch. I recently wrote a blog post about the 1946 version of the story if you wish to read! https://charsmoviereviews.wordpress.com/2017/01/15/la-belle-et-la-bete-1946/

  4. Lol thanks! Yes, you can pay with a credit or debit card for YouTube. I have Netflix too but I hardly watch it anymore. My son likes it so I keep it. I sometimes watch foreign movies or TV shows on it. I didn’t really care for Hulu. I remember Hastings! I would rent movies from Red Box too but now I’m starting to like YouTube more because I don’t have to leave or return it. Lol. Amazon has something too but I haven’t used it for renting movies, just to buy books.

  5. Dude, you DO look like Winnie. Thanks for the YouTube idea. I guess you pay with a credit card? Does YouTube take debit cards? Yeah, Netflix isn’t that great. I read somewhere that you should join Netflix for a couple of months then cancel. Then join Hulu for a couple of months then cancel. And that’s how you get to see everything. We had a DVD rental place here, Hastings, but it recently closed down. 😦

  6. Ooh I like The Princess Bride! I had a crush on the boy in it (Fred Savage). He was Kevin on The Wonder Years. Lol. They used to say I looked like his girlfriend Winnie a little when I was younger. He’s not so cute anymore 😢 It’s the exact same story as the animated one. Netflix takes forever to get new movies! I’ve been renting movies on YouTube lately. They’re $2-3 for 2 days.
