Sunday Song, etc. 12-4-16

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend was great! Mine was alright, I just relaxed a lot. I’m still looking for a job but I haven’t been successful yet 😦 I went to an interview on Friday. He said he might call me for a second interview on Friday but he didn’t. All I can do is keep trying. I’m trying not to give up and stay positive. Today’s song always gives me motivation not to quit. This song brings me to tears sometimes. What can I say? I’m a sensitive woman at times. Today I’m taking you back to 2003 with “You Raise Me Up.” Wikipedia says the original song was originally composed by Irish-Norwegian duo, Secret Garden. The song has been recorded by more than 100 artists worldwide. My favorite version so far is by Josh Groban. His version was number 1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts in early 2004 for six weeks straight. I’m also including the original song by Secret Garden. It’s really nice too but I still prefer Josh Groban’s. I chose a video with lyrics because they’re really uplifting and motivational. What do you think of this song? Do you have a favorite version of “You Raise Me Up?” I’ll be back with a Romantic Tuesday post. Take care, everyone and have a goodnight/good morning!

  1. Lisa, I know from personal experience a new job offer can be attained at this time of year. I think a number of employment seekers “take off” looking over the Holidays but some companies/places have budgeted for a new person or persons in the New Year and start the process of hiring now. Good luck in your search and I know something will present itself soon!

  2. Hi Chevvy! Welcome back to the blogosphere! It’s good to see you! I hope you’re doing better. Oh yes, I’ve heard of the Westlife version too. Thank you for the kind words 🙂 It’s good to know I’m the only one whose cried to this song.

  3. Hey Lisa. You take me back with this song. I remember the first time I heard it. Someone was playing the Westlife version early in the morning in the office. Listening to the song, I just started balling my eyes out and I couldn’t explain why. As for my astounded colleague, he just hopped over and gave me the CD to keep. I like the Josh Groban version too. I suppose the song caught me at an emotional time but subsequently, it always made me think of everyone in my life who had raised me up. So I’m raising you up Girl – that job will find you soon! 😀
