Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2017 has been good to you so far! 🙂 It’s been good to me so far! The other day I made a list of what I want to accomplish this year and by when. I have lots of plans for this blog and writing. I can’t believe next month will be two years since I’ve been blogging! I’ve enjoyed the experience so much! Anyway… Since today is my grandma’s birthday, I decided to go with her favorite song by her favorite singer of all-time…”Love Me Tender” by Elvis Presley. It’s safe to say my grandma is obsessed with him and his music! Throughout the years, she’s enjoyed buying lots of Elvis memorabilia. Her house is filled with Elvis blankets, cups, Christmas ornaments, playing cards, movies and I forget what else!
“Love Me Tender” was recorded in 1956. It was a number one hit on the Billboard Music charts. According to Wikipedia, the song is adapted from a Civil War ballad called “Aura Lee.” The song has been featured on several movies like “Die Hard 2,” “Honeymoon in Vegas,” “The Princess Diaries 2,” etc. The song has also been covered by several artists throughout the years. I included a few I like, along with the original one with the lyrics. Which one do you prefer? Have a great day everyone and I’ll see you soon! 🙂
Happy New Year, Kerry! 🍾🍷🍸

Thank you Bruce! I’ve always wanted to take her to Graceland. Maybe sometime soon it will happen. 🙂 I’ve been to Nashville but never to Memphis. “Blue Christmas” is a great song too! Happy 2017 Bruce!

Hey, happy birthday to your grandma! I am glad you had a good start into the New Year, Lisa! I love the song and the versions are just so beautiful… although nothing can beat the original!

Happy B-Day Grandma! Had a chance to visit Graceland in Memphis some years ago. He was an amazing performer and his music will be relevant forever. His version of “Blue Christmas” is one of my Holiday favorites. Glad 2017 is off to a great start for you Lisa!
