Friday Song 1-13-17

Hi everyone and happy Friday! It’s Friday the 13th but I don’t believe in bad luck! 🙂 I hope it’s a three-day weekend for you because of the Martin Luther King holiday on Monday. If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you might remember me blogging about the legendary Sir Elton John. In case you missed the posts, you can check them out here and here. I blogged about his performance on “Carpool Karaoke” and the time I got very close to interviewing him back in 2007. I was a freelance writer at a local newspaper for years. Over the years, I had the opportunity to interview  bands and celebrities. I regret missing his concert in 2007 but…I’m hoping I get the opportunity to see him perform on March 23. Sir Elton John will bring his ‘Behind the Piano’ tour to El Paso and nearby Albuquerque the day before! Most of the tickets are already sold but I haven’t lost hope yet! Today I’m including one of my favorite Sir Elton John songs, “Benny and the Jets.” I’ve included it in the blog before but it wasn’t live the last time. Do you have any favorite Sir Elton John songs? Feel free to leave them in the comments section. Have a great weekend everyone and I’ll see you soon!

  1. Those are all great picks, Bruce! “I’m Still Standing” is one of my favorites too. A couple of people wanted to sell me their tickets for $600 or $300 each. I think I’ll wait. That’s a lot!

  2. Considering where I live “Philadelphia Freedom” is a favorite of course! “I’m Still Standing.” “Saturday Night’s Allright.” So many to choose from. Never saw him perform – hope you get the opportunity!

  3. Where do you begin? “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” “Bennie & The Jets” (of course), “Rocket Man,” “Your Song,”….there’s a start. The list of favorite Elton John songs is pretty long for me.
