#RomanticTuesday 1-17-17

Hi everyone and Happy Tuesday! Ever since I heard Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” on the radio back in 2014, I’ve enjoyed the song’s lyrics and melody. “Thinking Out Loud” reached number one on the music charts in several countries like the U.S., U.K., Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Denmark and South Africa. I’ve always enjoyed romantic growing old together-type songs. Wikipedia says that in October 2015, “Thinking Out Loud” became the first song to be streamed over 500 million times on Spotify. It’s been viewed on YouTube more than 1 billion times. The song won Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. According to an August 2016 Time story, Ed Sheeran was sued by the co-writer of Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get it On” for copyright infringement. You can check out the story here. Since I enjoy the lyrics so much, I’m including them in the post. Have a great day, everyone and I’ll be back soon!

Thinking Out Loud

When your legs don’t work like they used to before
And I can’t sweep you off of your feet
Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love?
Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks?

And, darling, I will be loving you ’til we’re seventy
And, baby, my heart could still fall as hard at twenty three
And I’m thinking ’bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Well, me – I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am

So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I’m thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are

When my hair’s all but gone and my memory fades
And the crowds don’t remember my name
When my hands don’t play the strings the same way (mmm)
I know you will still love me the same

‘Cause honey your soul could never grow old, it’s evergreen
And, baby, your smile’s forever in my mind and memory
I’m thinking ’bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe it’s all part of a plan
Well, I’ll just keep on making the same mistakes
Hoping that you’ll understand

That, baby, now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
Thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are (oh ohh)

La la la la la la la la loud

So, baby, now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Oh, darling, place your head on my beating heart
I’m thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are
Oh, baby, we found love right where we are
And we found love right where we are

  1. No this sounds nothing like Marvin Gaye’s song. But then, I didn’t think “Blurred Lines” did either, so what do I know?

This is a great song though. Terrific choice.

  2. I don’t think this song sounds like any of Marvin Gaye’s song at all! I’m sure they just wanted money. Ed Sheeran’s new album gets released in March. I’m really looking forward to it 🙂

  3. Hi Sharon! It’s good to see you here! 🙂 I know you’ve been busy. Other than being busy, I hope all is well for you. I’m glad you like this song! Hope you can stop by when time permits! Take care! 💖
