Hi everyone and Happy Friday! This week has been pretty long for me! I’m so happy the weekend is finally here! Today I’m taking you back to a 90’s classic I’m still listening to in 2017! “Friday” was one of my favorite movies growing up. I’m still an Ice Cube and Dr. Dre fan these days. Since Thursday was the 420 holiday in North America, I thought this would be a good song to share for the occasion. I apologize, I’m a day late on this post. “Friday” is a movie about friendship and marijuana consumption. It has lots of jokes in it. People celebrate by consuming marijuana at 4:20 p.m. on April 20. The holiday was started by five California high school students in 1971. 420 was a code term used to signify marijuana consumption at that time. It was used so that authorities didn’t know the meaning of it. Although marijuana consumption is illegal in many states, it’s currently legal in eight states and Washington D.C. For more info. about 420, you can check out this article by MSN right here. Although the majority of marijuana consumption is illegal in Texas, El Paso is hosting their own 420 Fest through Saturday. Organizers want to educate the public on consuming medicinal marijuana and proposed marijuana laws. Medicinal marijuana is said to help alleviate cancer, epilepsy, post traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, menstrual cramps and many other ailments. More than 30 local bands and other performances are expected at the event. You can check out the story I did for What’s Up Weekly here. Have a great weekend everyone and I’ll see you soon!
Warning: This song isn’t suitable for work.
Great song choice. Not suitable for work. LOL.

It’s ridiculous that they haven’t legalized it across the country by now. Great song! Stopping by from Eli’s 6 word post!

As I said, I don’t know a lot about marjuana. I still think that people don’t need to be “saved” from drugs or weapons… or whatever but they need to be instructed and taught how to handle them for a beneficial use!

Good answer, Erika! I don’t see any harm in it, especially if it helps people who are sick. I’m against hard drugs though. Hard drugs have killed people I’ve known and/or put them in jail.

I don’t know, to be honest. I never had to deal with drugs (THANK GOD). But then again, what else is alcohol. In the end it is about the responsibility of the user and if it is a “harmless” drug if used reasonable and for medical reason I would support it. As with everything: You can use all things in both good and bad ways!

Lol yea that’s true. What do you think about it being legal anywhere, Erika?

Hi Sue! Where have you been?? I hope you’re feeling better. Easter was fine! I spent it with my family. I’m doing alright! I just started a new job on Tuesday. It’s very overwhelming but hopefully I learn the system better. I’m debating whether I should stay there or not. I feel like I’m behind from the others. I guess I’ll think about it.

I know about the legal use of marijuana in California. In Venice Beach, you have lots of “doctors” on the sidewalk providing it.
