Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a great Tuesday! Happy Romantic Tuesday! Today’s Romantic Tuesday song has been stuck in my head a lot these days. I’ve been playing the song on repeat for the past few days. I love the song’s beat and Childish Gambino’s voice! “Redbone” reminds me of an old school 70’s R&B and funk song a lot. Because of its lyrics, I wasn’t sure if it should be considered a romantic love song. Childish Gambino talks about peanut butter chocolate cake with Kool-Aid! 😀 However, during his Governor’s Ball Music Festival performance in New York City this weekend, he called “Redbone” ‘the perfect song to make out to.’ The song was released in November 2016. So far, it’s had more than 56 million views on YouTube and 131 million views on Spotify.
Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover began his career writing for the hit comedy series “30 Rock” with Tina Fey. I never watched the show but I hear it was really funny. He currently stars in FX’s “Atlanta.” He will also star in this summer’s “Spider-Man Homecoming” movie. Over the years, he’s also written and performed hip-hop music! Talk about being busy and talented! He’ll also be starring in an upcoming “Star Wars” movie and remake of “The Lion King.” Have you heard this song before? What do you think of it? I’ve haven’t listened to much of his stuff. Don’t really have a good reason, I guess the first few releases just didn’t do it for me. Redbone’s pretty good though!

I’d say peanut butter chocolate cake sounds very sensual… lol! And honestly, who listens to the lyrics of a song in certain situations… it is the music who supports the atmosphere 😉

Love this song. Never knew it was Childish Gambino. I thought it was Macy Gray. The first time I heard it was in Get Out and I was hooked on the song.
