Hi everyone. I hope you’re doing well. I’m finally starting to feel like myself again after surgery. I got to rest a lot, watch TV, be on social media and spend time with loved ones. I was almost getting bored! I finally started driving again this weekend. I attended mass and took my son to the movies on Sunday. We enjoyed “The Lego Ninjago Movie.” I was surprised the movie theater wasn’t more packed for this one! I was hoping my doctor would release me to go back to work last week but he didn’t. I’ll be going back to work on Wednesday.
Since I was lying around on the couch and bed, I watched the news and read what was on social media a lot. I’m sad and disappointed on what’s going on in the world these days. I try to stay positive but sometimes it’s hard to do it. Mexico has gone through two earthquakes and aftershocks in September! It was nice to see so many come together and help them with donations. Since El Paso is 45 minutes away from Mexico, I was happy to see a lot of El Pasoans help out. I’m also happy that many helped out Hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria victims. I’m glad I was able to donate a little bit of money and items. A local business I contacted will be helping a high school friend who lost everything during Harvey. I’m going to continue doing what I can to help out. Forgive me if this post is too long and all over the place.
There’s so many other issues that I’ve also been thinking about lately. I wonder if we’re going to war with North Korea soon. I was also worried about the new healthcare bill. Luckily some Republicans are voting no on it. Another issue that Americans have been discussing in person and on social media a lot is the president’s remarks on kneeling during the National Anthem at sporting events. I disagree with mostly everything that comes out of his mouth. I dislike him more and more everyday. A person in that position should be protecting our constitution and rights. He’s not honoring the job description in many ways. I personally think we should stand up during the National Anthem as a sign of respect to our flag and the many who have fought and continue to fight for our Constitution and rights. The beautiful thing about this is that Americans also have the right to kneel or sit if they choose to do so. I understand many are upset over police brutality, racial inequality and the way things are going in this country. I am very upset over these things too. America has a lot of issues right now. I have a tiny shred of hope things will eventually get better. I hope we can come together and help others whenever it’s possible. Things like this make the world a better place. What have you been doing lately? Take care everyone and I’ll see you soon.

Is it really a year? I feel like I have aged 5 years but a lovely memory to be with you on that rooftop. ❤️

The earthquake was scary but thankfully we’re all fine. I wrote a post about what that was like! Glad to know there are people thinking about MX and PR.

Wow! I hope you and your family are ok! They asked for donations at church today for Mexico and Puerto Rico.

I live the Mexico City suburbs, only a few minutes from the airport. The people here have been donating everything they can for earthquake victims. There are certainly millions of good people out there!

Glad you’re feeling better! I agree many sad things are going right now. Nature has been devastating enough lately, there wasn’t any need to add man-made disasters to it, but some people are just bent on acting like fools. I’m particularly sad about how hard Mexico has been hit by hurricanes and earthquakes, but seeing my fellow Mexicans coming out to help others in need has restored my faith in humanity, or at least my faith in my own country.

Is so good to hear from you Lisa, and glad you’re on the road to recovery. Like so many of your followers have already stated, I missed your posts.
I’m in complete agreement with you about our catastrophe of a president, as I also disagree with nearly everything he says or does. I sure hope our great country survives his presidency.

Erika! I guess the Beatles weren’t lying when they sang all you need is love. Ha ha. It’s nice to see some compassion, especially when bad things happen. I need to catch up on your blog. I read some of it but I’m still behind. Hugs ❤

Hi, Lisa, good to see you! Yes, a lot sad and scary things are happening. We cannot do anything against natural disasters. But it is the most amazing (and this is the really really good news) how much love is gathering when something like this happens. Then again, human-induced things happen and therefore it is again necessary to gather as much love as possible. If we connected with the same low energy they radiate we cannot change anything. So, let’s act the way we want our world to be!!
I hope you are soon well enough to get back into your daily life. Feel strongly hugged, dear Lisa 💖

Wow! Yes, it’s really painful. I think it’s even more painful than giving birth. Well they took out part of an ovary some years back. They also took out part of a tube. I have endometriosis so I have issues with this stuff. I’m still hoping I can have one more baby before it’s too late. This surgery should help me.

I started this other job in July. It’s a job that pays the bills. Lol. I work in customer service on the phone. I had two cysts near my ovaries so they had to take them out. I was pretty sick from it. I was tired and in pain a lot.

one of the hardest concepts that I had to learn to embrace while I was in the military was to protect someone’s right to be in complete disagreement with something that you hold dear and cherish. we don’t have to agree with one another all of the time but this people bashing from both sides of the aisle has got to go. we are not going to get anywhere anytime soon if this continues and for the POTUS to be a tool for dividing people instead of trying to bring people together is completely reprehensible and immature in my view.
but this is just my opinion.
