Hi everyone! I hope you’re doing well! After I had surgery and recovered, it seems like there aren’t enough hours in the day to catch up on things! I got behind on lots of things including blogging. I’m sorry about not blogging more often. I’ve missed all of you SO much! I also think I was at a loss for words some days. Writer’s block got the best of me. Things in this world have been so tragic lately. Things in the U.S. are out of control! Anyway…the words seem to be coming back to me more and more these days. I think I’m finally getting my groove back (who says that anymore??) so here I am. I promise not to be a stranger as much going forward. I may only be able to write 1-2 times a week for now. I promise I’ll eventually pick it up as time goes on.
This Sunday I attended the 10th Annual Chalk the Block Festival with my son. We’ve attended it a few other times in past years. I think this year was one of my favorites. Chalk the Block is a perfect opportunity for artists and the community to come together. Many local businesses also came together to sell their art, food and other products. Two of my favorite exhibits were The Life Cube Project and Wish Tree by Yoko Ono. I had fun participating in The Life Cube Project. I was able to write down some of my goals on a neon tag. I then tied it to the other tags on display. I won’t tell you what I wrote because it might not come true. Others wrote things like wanting a dog, becoming a writer (this wasn’t mine) and becoming successful in life. The photo above explains the project in more detail. El Paso artist Jesus ‘Cimi’ Alvarado and others helped create art on the bus aka the Art on the Move exhibit. If you’ve followed my blog for awhile, you might remember his art and interview here in the blog. In case you missed it, you can check it out here. Cimi and his wife, Kata opened up Kalavera Culture Shop in downtown El Paso a few months ago. I had the opportunity to write about it in What’s Up Weekly in August. You can check it out here. Here’s some photos I took. They aren’t the best photos but I tried my best.

Take care everyone and I’ll see you soon! Romantic Tuesday will be back next week.
Lol. Thanks Sue! Hugs!
