Anything but Books Tag

Hi everyone! Since I’m relaxing in bed, I decided today would be a good time to participate in this challenge. A thank you goes out to fellow blogger and friend Ritu from But I Smile Anyway… for inviting me to take part in it. Ritu’s blog is a must read for me. Besides also being a part of my blogging family, she’s a working mom, teacher and published author in England. Ritu blogs about a variety of topics like parenting, teaching, cooking, books, poetry, Indian culture, the list goes on. Check out/follow her blog if you aren’t already, you won’t be disappointed. Here goes the challenge…

Q1. Name a cartoon you love.

There’s several but I’ll go with “The Simpsons.” Although “The Simpsons” is still running after 30 years, I don’t like the new episodes. Watching the 90’s episodes still make me laugh 20 some years later. I included a clip of “Homer has a heart attack.” Although it’s kind of a sad episode, it’s funny at the same time. Homer’s doctor, Dr. Nick Riviera doesn’t know how to do the operation so he reads about it just minutes before performing it. Lisa Simpson also has to tell him what to do. Check out this clip, it literally made me LOL. The Simpsons also takes me back to my childhood. I used to watch this show with my parents and sister on Sunday and Thursday nights. We’d have dinner while watching it. Me, my son and uncle still catch the reruns sometimes.

Q2. What is your favorite song right now?

I can’t get enough of Portugal. The Man’s “Feel it Still.” I always find myself singing and dancing to it in the car. I think it has a really catchy beat. It’s getting a lot of radio airplay these days. Me and my boyfriend saw them live on Oct. 13. It was a great night! In case you missed my review, here it is

Q3. What could you do for hours that isn’t reading?

A lot of things! I could take a nap, write, watch stuff on Netflix, do something with my son, listen to music, etc.

Q4. What is something that you love to do that your followers would be surprised with?

My family probably already knows this but I love to gamble. I buy scratch off lottery tickets at the gas station or grocery store often. I also like to play slot machines at casinos or online. I’ve been playing on Chumba Casino lately. I’ve won off and on. The casino is legit and available to all U.S. residents.

Q5. What is your favorite thing to learn about?

I like to learn about new recipes from around the world. I didn’t say I’ve tried them all but I enjoy reading about them. I also like to learn about different cultures and traditions worldwide.

Q6. What is something unusual you know how to do?

To be honest, I’m not sure! Let me get back to you on that one.

Q7. Name something that you’ve made in the last year?

Does writing a lot count?

Q8. What is your most recent personal project?

I’m trying to finish my women’s fiction novel. I started it in February but started again this month. I’m not sure when I’ll finish it. I hope it can be done in 2018 but I’m not making any promises.

Q9. Tell us something that’s your favorite. Make it oddly specific.

I love Flamin’ Hot Cheetos with nacho cheese on top of them. LOL. If you’re in El Paso, you probably already know about this popular snack. Some people here go as far as including jalapenos, ground beef, steak, etc. A local restaurant adds Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and nacho cheese in a hamburger! I’m good with just adding the cheese in.

I’m nominating the following bloggers to take part in this fun challenge.
