Hi everyone! I hope you’re doing well on Christmas Eve! A couple of my favorite bloggers Ritu and Erika participated in the Christmas Tag. I decided to also take part in it.

1. What’s your favorite thing about Christmas?

I like how people are kinder and generous during this time. People help others by donating food and money to those who are going through hard times. I think this should be done all year long but people do it the most right now. I also think it’s a nice time to reach out to loved ones you haven’t talked to in awhile. It’s also a good time to forgive others.

2. What’s your favorite Christmas memory?

If you’ve followed my blog for awhile, you might remember Christmas in 1986 . That was one of my favorite Christmases because I received Teddy Ruxpin as a gift. I asked my mom and Santa for it. My mom took me to see Santa at the mall and I told him I wanted him. I was so thrilled and excited to get him that Christmas morning. I still have him somewhere at my parent’s house.

3. Are there special traditions your family has for Christmas?
Every year I get together with my mom, grandma and sometimes other family members like my sister, cousins and/or family friends, etc. to make tamales. My great grandmother used to help us out. She lived to be 98 years old. Luckily I got to know her for 15 years of my life. She passed along several of her recipes to my grandmother. We eat tamales off and on for about a week straight after making them! They’re also a part of our Christmas dinner. We make three kinds of tamales: red chile with pork, green chile with chicken and cheese and sweet which include raisins, coconut and pecans. Christmas wouldn’t be the same for me without tamales.

4. What’s your Christmas wish? (Can be personal or general)

I would love it if people got along. I’ll let you know if my personal wish comes true sometime in 2018. 🙂

5. What’s your favorite Christmas dish?
See question number three. I also enjoy desserts like chocolate chip cookies, fruit salad, brownies, hot chocolate, my mom’s candy apples, gingerbread cookies, rum cake, man I could go on!

6. What’s your favorite Christmas decoration?

The nativity scene. Jesus is the reason for the season! I also like Christmas trees, especially the white ones.

7. What’s your favorite Christmas song? There’s so many to choose from! I will go with “Please Come Home for Christmas” by Eagles for today.

8. Where do you usually celebrate Christmas?
At my grandparents’ and sometimes my parents’ house.

9. What does the ‘Christmas Spirit’ mean to you?

Being together with those you love the most and helping others in need. This also means decorating for Christmas, whether it’s putting up a Christmas tree and/or lights outside.

10. Who out of anybody in the world would you want to spend your Christmas with?
I already enjoy who I spend it with right now which is my family (my son, boyfriend, parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, sister, brother-in-law, sometimes friends).

Please feel free to participate if you’d like! Take care everyone and I’ll see you soon! Merry Christmas Eve!
