Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a great summer! I’ve been on assignment and getting my son ready for school. Can you believe he starts seventh grade on Monday morning? I don’t know where the time goes!
A huge thank you goes out to Alamo Drafthouse for inviting me and a couple of my family members to their “Teen Titans Go! To the Movies” family party on Saturday morning. They also gave me passes for some of my social media followers. Alamo is one of our favorite movie theaters in town so I couldn’t say no to the invitation. Customers are able to order food and drinks (yes, even adult beverages) from the comfort of their soft leather seat and the staff brings it to you! All you have to do is write it on a piece of paper and fold it so that the staff sees it. The wait staff’s always friendly and makes me feel welcome.
Alamo hosts a number of family and adult movie parties that include new and old films every month. An example of an upcoming movie party for kids includes a “Space Jam” cereal party on Aug. 4. They’ll also be hosting a kid’s movie camp in August. This includes older movies for $1-5. Something else I enjoy about Alamo is that they support a number of community events and charities. They host clothing and food drives and help out local organizations register new voters. These are only a few things they do for the community. Alamo Cinemas are available in more than 25 cities across the U.S.

My son Jacob said he likes the movie poster he received. Before and after the movie started, there were arts and crafts for the kids and photo opportunities. The kids were able to draw and make super hero costumes with t-shirts. Here’s a couple of photos my son let me take. Jacob said he liked the movie because it was funny. He also said the villain was a funny character. Critics like Genevieve Koski from Vox described the movie as ‘an all-ages version of the recent Deadpool movies.’ Koski also said “It pokes cheeky fun at superheroes owned by other companies (including Deadpool himself).” “Plus, there are butt jokes. So many butt jokes.” Tickets for the family party were $12.99 per person. I highly recommend attending the parties with your kids. If it’s not a kid friendly movie/party, they make a perfect date or girls night out.

Disclaimer: Although me and my family attended this event with passes from Alamo Drafthouse, it did not guarantee a positive review. My truthful opinion is reflected in this review.

Hello! Thank you for your comment! We haven’t had the Alamo for too long but I’m enjoying it so far! Bear’s Tooth sounds pretty interesting. A former/native Texan…awesome! 🙂

When I lived in San Antonio we always went to the Alamo Drafthouse. I loved it! In Alaska we have something down the same line called Bear’s Tooth. We go there too.
