Hi everyone! I hope you’re doing well! I’m a little bit under the weather but it isn’t anything too serious. I’ve had an ear infection for a couple of days so I’ve been taking it easy. I’ll be catching up on reading blogs in the next few days. I wanted to tell you about the keto lifestyle and how it’s going for me. I blogged about it a few weeks back. If you don’t remember the post, you can check it out here.
Although it’s sometimes hard to stick to keto, it’s been a wonderful blessing for me. I started keto on June 24 and… so far I’ve lost 18 pounds. I’m currently at 128 lbs. I still want to lose some more weight. my goal is to lose 2-3 lbs a week. I went to the doctor today and my blood pressure was normal. I used to have high blood pressure most times. My doctor was going to make me take pills for it but luckily I don’t have to anymore. I usually sleep better most nights and have more energy throughout the day. Yes, I’ve had to give up bread and a lot of carbs but it’s been worth it. I still have a few French fries and small handfuls of chips or popcorn every once in awhile. Although you don’t have to exercise too much, I walk and do yoga a couple of times a week.
One of the most inspiring doctors I enjoy watching on Sunday evenings on Facebook Live is Dr. Rob Kiltz from Syracuse, New York. He’s provided a ton of valuable knowledge about living the keto lifestyle. Although he’s a fertility specialist, a lot of what he says makes sense to me. I included his Ted Talk in this post. Let me know what you think of it. Going forward, I’ll be including some of my keto recipes from time to time. Take care everyone and I’ll see you soon!

Hi there! Thank you for checking it out! I added a little bit of carbs but not too many. I have had a cheat day here and there too. I went on vacation so it happened. I am still losing weight. I’m not where I want to be just yet. Good luck too!

Hey Lisa!
I am also on the keto diet & definitely agree, its a lifestyle change NOT a diet! I’m glad to hear that you are doing well with the diet, and it sounds like you’re making great progress! I recently began drinking a Ketologic Keto Meal shake for breakfast & it has made a huge difference! It already has all of your macros balanced out as they should be (fat vs proteins) & definitely saves time in the busy mornings 🙂
Good luck with the rest of your journey, & keep it up!

Hi Lisa!
So glad you are taking your step to better! That is wonderful! I highly recommend watching “The Magic Pill” on Netflix. It’s an INCREDIBLE documentary on the impact food has on us. I eat keto as well and LOVE it! I also drink pure therapeutic ketones which is a game-changer for me. #KetoBoom4Life

Great! Yes it does help. It was hard to fast at first but it’s not as bad anymore.

Both…sometimes. I have been fasting on and off, under my doctor’s advice and that helps.

Thanks for checking it out. I think of it as a lifestyle change. A diet is temporary. I’ll check out your blog. I’ll have more recipes and keto tips in the near future.

I understand, it happens. Keto is more of a lifestyle change, a different but healthy way of eating. Diets are more short term until you lose the amount of weight you want. I was thinking of just going low carb once I lose the weight but I’m not too sure yet. Keto is good because it has a lot of great health benefits. It’s reversed diabetes, reduces epilepsy symptoms, reduces inflammation, regulates the cycles, reduces PCOS, endometriosis symptoms and many other health benefits.

Thanks Ritu! You lose the weight pretty fast on keto, especially at the beginning. It’s slowed down some.
