Hi everyone! I hope you’re doing well! Reality TV star/DJ Pauly D aka Paul DelVecchio Jr. from MTV’s “Jersey Shore” and “Jersey Shore Family Reunion” is coming to El Paso! He’ll be at the University of Texas-El Paso’s (UTEP) pep rally Minerpalooza on Friday. He’ll headline the show with Nickelodeon star Drake Bell, DJ Orange Calderon and local rock band, Volta. Between 25-30 thousand people are expected at this year’s event.

Nicole Aguilar from UTEP’s Student Engagement and Leadership Center told the El Paso Herald Post “Minerpalooza is UTEP’s most highly anticipated tradition and this year; it’s bigger and better than ever.” “Serving as the official kickoff to the new year, this event brings students, faculty, alumni and the greater El Paso community together for a night of fun and memories.”

I was completely surprised when Pauly D followed me on Twitter. I thought it was a fake profile so I asked him, “Is it really you?” (Check out the screen shot) I looked up everything he was telling me and it adds up. I had an interesting conversation with him about life, DJing and “Jersey Shore.” “Jersey Shore Family Reunion” made a comeback on Aug. 23. I was really into “Jersey Shore” eight or nine years ago.  I’d rush home from work to watch it.

Pauly D went on tour with Backstreet Boys and Jesse McCartney in 2013. (I’ll admit I was a Backstreet Boys fan back in the day! Lol.) He also released his first single “Back to Love” on 50 Cent’s (I’ve also been a 50 Cent fan) record label, G-Note Records in 2013. He helped him with his SK mission to fight world famine. He’s been involved with helping a number a charities over the years. He’s also been on “Extra” as a correspondent. Pauly D has a DJ residency at Drai’s in Las Vegas and The Pool After Dark at Harrah’s in Atlantic City. Forbes Magazine named him on their “World’s Highest Paid DJs” list two years in a row.

“I can’t wait to bring out a great show to my fans in El Paso,” he told me in a Twitter message.

“I always promise my fans a great show. I will never let fans down with my show. “(I) can’t wait to set everyone on fire soon.”

He said he’ll also a host meet and greet for fans on Oct. 12 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

I’m still wondering if this is real? 😛 Whoever it was seems like a really nice and genuine person. It looks like I made a new friend either way 🙂 Take care everyone and I’ll see you soon!
