Hi everyone! I hope you’re doing well! Me and my boyfriend visited Santa Fe last Saturday. We also stopped in Albuquerque for two days. I’ve blogged about Albuquerque in the past. If you missed it, you can check it out here.

The only thing I want to mention about our trip to Albuquerque was visiting Sandia Resort and Casino. It was our first time there and we enjoyed it a lot. It’s a huge, elegant casino with a lot of slot machines, table games and a Bingo hall. I included a photo I found online. It was dark when we got there so I wasn’t really able to take photos of it. We were too excited to play some slot machines when we were inside so I didn’t take any photos. Casino workers sometimes don’t like it when you take photos inside…I’m not sure why. We won a little bit of money so that made the night better!

Our first stop in Santa Fe was the Loretto Chapel. It’s a former Roman Catholic church that’s now a museum and wedding chapel. It’s known for its miracle spiral staircase or the miraculous stair. Sisters from the chapel say it was built when they prayed a novena to St. Joseph, the patron saint of carpentry. They hoped he could fix some construction errors. A carpenter appeared at the door and asked that he have three months of privacy to fix the church. The staircase does not have any nails or glue. The carpenter was never to be found after he finished building it. The staircase was built between 1877 and 1881. It’s $4 per person to visit the chapel.

We walked around the historic Santa Fe Plaza and saw a lot of art, jewelry and other goods for sale. Just to give you an idea on what some stuff costs in Santa Fe…I saw an area rug for $7,000! Imagine that? We didn’t buy anything there. Oprah Winfrey has a house in Santa Fe and “A Song of Ice and Fire” writer George R.R. Martin aka GRRM lives there. His novel was adapted into HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” If you’re a fan, I have something cool to show you in a bit. I actually got scolded for taking the photo below. Oops! They had a tiny sign at the top of the display that said not to take photos but I didn’t see it. I thought the artist was going to make me erase the photos. Instead, he asked me to buy a print for $40 or $60 but I didn’t.
The photography I got scolded at for taking a pic of. Oops!

We stopped in the coffee shop Liquid Outpost to check out the art and prints on the wall. The paintings/prints start at about $300. I sort of like this painting so I included it.
Although we went into the Georgia O’ Keeffe Museum to freshen up, we didn’t look at the art. It’s $13 per adult. Instead, we went to the Santa Fe Community Convention Center to look at more art. It’s free of charge there. Here’s some photos I took below:

A couple of photos I took on our walk:
And last but not least… Remember I told you earlier you would like this if you’re a “Game of Thrones” fan? Well…we drove by Mr. Martin’s house and took some photos of his mailbox. We didn’t want to intrude so we didn’t get out of the car to pose. I think this was the best part of the trip! We’re anxiously awaiting the last season… Take care everyone and I’ll see you soon!

Hi! Thank you for checking out my post and for following along! I’m sure you may already know it but…Santa Fe gets cold in December/January. Please stay warm when you go and enjoy! I’m sure they decorate beautifully for Christmas.

Yes, all is well, Lisa… just very busy at all ends.
That is unfortunately more and more of a problem. The charge for almost everything meanwhile. Have a lovely Sunday💖

Hi Erika! I hope all is well for you. We had fun! I wish they didn’t charge to go inside the church but it’s worth it anyway. It’s very beautiful inside and out. ❤
