Hi everyone. I hope you’re doing well. I’m hanging in there and trying to stay positive. Good news…this post will be positive. Have you all heard of the #ElPasoChallenge ? An 11-year-old boy from El Paso started it. It’s made national and worldwide news in the past few days. Ruben Martinez began the challenge to be nice to others within our community. It was also done so that we could heal from the mass shooting that killed 22 last week. It’s also to honor their memory.
People have been doing random acts of kindness like paying for a stranger’s meal, buying them a soda at the gas station, giving a first responder a candy and many other acts of kindness. It’s not just being done in El Paso, either! I’ve seen posts from different parts of Texas and even other cities around the country. I’ve been following the acts on social media. It’s almost the same concept as Pay it Forward. You’re supposed to do 22 acts of kindness, a kind act for each person who was killed. I’d like to try doing it. I think I’m going to have my son participate with me. I hope you will take the challenge with me 🙂 Anyone want to try it? Let’s try and make the world a better place with one kind act at a time. If you want to see what else we’re doing to help the community, click here. Take care everyone and I’ll see you soon.

Hi Kerry! I’m sorry I haven’t responded sooner. I’m still taking a break from blogging. Lol. I’m not sure if I will continue. I might in 2020. Hope all is well! 🙂 Happy New Year!

Kindness is something we all need to embrace in daily life. I hope you are well, my dear friend and Feliz Navidad! I will say a prayer for all the victims of mass shootings all over the world.

Yes, Peter! I can’t believe an 11 year old came up with it. I’m doing it when I can. 🙂

What a generous “pay it forward” “simple acts of kindness” thing to do. I hope it catches on.
