They aren’t following the social distancing rules!

Hi everybody! I hope you’re all safe and healthy during these crazy Coronavirus/quarantine/pandemic times. I didn’t know if I should write anything in the blog ever again because it’s been MONTHS since I’ve last written anything here! El Paso was dealing with a mass shooting at Walmart the last time I wrote in the blog a few months back. This is my first post in 2020! Hopefully someone is out there but if not, I completely understand. To say things have been weird lately would be an understatement. I’m sure that goes for everyone at this time. We’re sort of living in the unknown at the present time.

I want to become a bit more active in the future. I don’t think I’ll blog as often as I was in previous years but I’d like to be around more often. I’m still juggling two jobs and freelance every once in awhile right now. I’m considered an essential employee at one job and work from home at the other. My essential job takes place at a nursing home. I’ve been doing that for about a year and a half now. I think I’ve finally been able to manage my time better!

Hmm…well what else has happened in the past few months in my life? We got a puppy back in September. I’ll be honest…he can be a real pain in the a$$! He’s quite needy and spoiled. We still love and care for him nonetheless. I’d like to introduce you to Chico. Some of you have met him irl (in real life) or seen him in photos. I took this pic. when we went to see the poppies in full bloom a couple of weeks ago near the Franklin Mountains. He loves to eat and hates taking walks! Seriously, how weird is that? Most dogs love walks but he doesn’t. This photo was taken when we were still able to go out to parks and hiking. We’re not allowed to do that at this time, until further notice. Like in a lot of other areas, the number of Coronavirus cases continues to rise in El Paso. As of today, 4-4-20, we’re at 106.

Chico the lil’ terror!

Other than working a lot and taking care of a puppy, not too much has really been going on in my world. Times are weird right now! My son is of course out of school until further notice. It’s hard to find toilet paper and paper towels at the stores. I miss going out to eat at a restaurant and watching a movie at the theater the most! I also miss my friends and family! How have you been? What do you miss most during these times? Let me know in the comments! Before I leave, I want to leave you with a virtual tour of museums and parks worldwide. If you get bored at home, feel free to check them out from the comfort of your bed or sofa. I’ve seen a few of them and enjoyed them. You can check it out here. Take care everyone! Until next time… P.S. Don’t forget to support local businesses as much as possible. They’re hurting a lot right now.

  1. There has been a lot going in on your world Lisa. I think this is the perfect place for you to come and “be” with your WP family. It doesn’t matter how long you are away, you are not forgotten and you most definitely are loved!

  3. Hi Jeff! So glad you’re doing well and still blogging. I was working too much and not really managing my time wisely. I hope to be around more to read blogs and blog more. I was also feeling burnt out. It’s normal to feel that way with writing. Take care and thank you for stopping by.

  4. Hi Lisa! Great to hear from you, and I’m glad you’re doing alright. I’m well. Staying put at home, other than for the occasional trips to buy groceries. I’m still keeping busy writing for my blog, though I went through a couple of weeks of serious burnout in January where I just couldn’t write a thing. Stay safe!

  6. Hi Kim! I missed you too! Thank you! Yeah, times are crazy right now! It’s like nothing we’ve ever been through! I could’ve sworn you were in the east coast before?? They’re pretty strict with us going out over here already because it’s spreading quickly. I’m sure there are many more cases since there aren’t that many tests and some don’t have symptoms.

  7. I’ve missed you Lisa! I’m thrilled you’re back. Chico is adorable. I’m glad you’re staying safe and well. This is unbelievable isn’t it? Although, in retrospect, perhaps we should have seen this coming.🤷🏻‍♀️ We’re in Alabama and things are starting to get scary here, although it’s nothing like some of the hotspots like NYC and New Orleans. Still, they’re warning that by August AL is projected to be the 4th worse state, so that has me terrified. My husband and I are going out as little as possible except for daily 2-3 mile walks. I just wish this was over already. Anyway, WELCOME BACK! Take care of yourself!🤗
